Install Mealyno on your phone
Open app.mealyno.com on your phone and add it to the Home Screen. It opens full screen like a regular app, with the same diary, plans, shopping list and photo scan. No store, no download.
iPhone and iPad (Safari)
- 01Open app.mealyno.com in Safari (not inside another app's built-in browser).
- 02Tap the Share button in the toolbar.
- 03Scroll down and choose “Add to Home Screen”.
- 04Tap Add. Mealyno now opens from your Home Screen.
On iOS the app can only be added from Safari. If the Share menu has no “Add to Home Screen”, you are probably in an in-app browser: copy the link and open it in Safari.
Android (Chrome)
- 01Open app.mealyno.com in Chrome.
- 02Tap the “Install” card at the top of the app, or open the ⋮ menu and choose “Install app” (some phones say “Add to Home screen”).
- 03Confirm. The Mealyno icon appears on your Home Screen and in the app drawer.
You can also install later from Settings > Install the app inside Mealyno.

Store app vs web app (PWA)
The web app is the same Mealyno code running in the browser. It covers daily use well, but a browser cannot do everything a native app can. Honestly:
| Feature | Native app | Web app (PWA) |
|---|---|---|
| Food diary, Today, plans, recipes, shopping list, hydration, progress | Yes | Yes |
| Photo, barcode and label scan (camera)needs a camera permission; barcode scan is a bit slower on iPhone | Yes | Yes |
| Works offline for the last-seen datathe app shell and recent data are cached; new entries sync later | Yes | Yes |
| Apple Health / Health Connect sync | Yes | No |
| Home Screen widgets | Yes | No |
| Meal reminders (scheduled notifications) | Yes | No |
| Push notificationson iPhone, web push works only for an app added to the Home Screen; not available in Mealyno yet | Yes | No |
| Subscription purchase inside the appin the web app you subscribe on mealyno.com; the plan then shows up in the app | Yes | No |
| Sign in with Appleemail and Google sign-in work in the web app | Yes | No |
Your account and data are the same everywhere: log in on the web app and on the native app with the same account.
Questions about the web app
What is a PWA?
A PWA (progressive web app) is a website you can add to your Home Screen. It opens full screen, has its own icon and can work with a weak connection. You install it from the browser, not from a store.
Is the web app free?
Installing it is free. The plan limits are the same as everywhere else in Mealyno: you can start free, and Premium features are unlocked by your subscription on mealyno.com.
Will I get the phone version automatically?
Yes. app.mealyno.com shows the mobile app on phones and the regular website on a computer. Each has a link to switch to the other version, so you can always choose.
Does it work on iPhone and on Android?
Yes. On iPhone use Safari and “Add to Home Screen”. On Android use Chrome and “Install app”. Camera scanning needs your permission in both.
Can I use it without installing?
Yes, just open app.mealyno.com in the browser. Installing only adds the icon, the full-screen mode and faster starts.
Why is there no Apple Health or widgets in the web app?
Browsers do not give websites access to Apple Health, Health Connect or Home Screen widgets. Those features need the native app.
How do I remove it?
Press and hold the icon on your Home Screen and choose remove. Your Mealyno account and data stay in your account.
